Frequently Asked Questions

What does a dietitian do?

A registered dietitian or registered dietitian nutritionist (RD or RDN) is a licensed healthcare professional who is an expert in nutrition and creating diets to help prevent and treat health conditions. Dietitians must earn a graduate degree in dietetics, complete supervised training, and pass a registration exam. Some dietitians focus on specific health issues like diabetes, cancer, women’s health, digestive problems, or weight management.

At your first visit, your dietitian will ask about your needs, preferences, and lifestyle, and answer your questions. In later visits, your dietitian will be your personal nutrition coach. They’ll offer advice, recipes, and meal plans, help you set and reach goals, and most importantly, listen and support you as you work on your health.

Do you accept my health insurance?

As a new company, we currently accept BCBS of IL and are speedily working to add many more!

What if my health insurance doesn't cover a dietitian visit?

We’ll always let you know before your visit if we don’t accept your insurance or if your insurance won’t fully cover the cost. If that happens, you can choose to pay out-of-pocket for a one-on-one visit or sign up for a lower-cost group class.

What if you don't have a dietitian who is a match for me?

Sometimes, the dietitian who best matches your culture, language, and health needs may not accept your insurance or be licensed in your state. If that’s the case, you can choose another dietitian, pay out-of-pocket, or join our wait list while we work to get your dietitian covered by your insurance.
